Building a Custom Home: Framing Stages

Welcome back to part 3 of building a custom home!

Now comes the exciting part of building your home, watching your home be built!

The basement has been dug and framing is about to begin - what does that mean for you?

It’s time to start looking at exterior finishing’s! The exterior look of your home is the first selection you will need to make when building your new home. Windows, exterior doors and shingles are installed as soon as the framing of the home is complete with the soffit and fascia to come within a very short time frame.

When selecting these items for your new home we suggest selecting them as a package along with your stucco and cultured stone. Although stucco, stone and decking don’t have to be chosen until a later stage in construction we suggest making these decisions at the same time to ensure a cohesive look for your home!

Pro tip: Create a mood board with the tones and look of exterior that you are wishing to achieve in your new home, if you complete this step it’ll be a lot easier to piece together your exterior finishing’s!

Once framing is complete it’s time to start thinking about other decisions, want to know what’s next? Stay tuned for our next segment!
