Building a Custom Home: As Construction Continues

Hi everyone,

Welcome back to our Building a Custom Home series - where you’ll find information on exactly what happens during the construction process! Make sure to check out our previous segments for more information.

Today we’re going to be talking about what happens once your home is being framed! You’ve already picked out your exterior finishing’s and it’s time to start looking inside your home.

The very first things that will be put into your new home are tubs and showers, most builders will have standard tubs and showers that are included with your home so ensure that you have reviewed these items and ensure that if any changes need to be made that we are informed as soon as framing begins.

It is also time to choose your faucets for your sinks, showers and tubs at this time! This is a very important step as we need to know whether you are choosing Delta or Moen taps as the plumbing rough in done during the next stage is different for both of these items.

These are some of the easier choices to make as you build your dream home but there’s lots more to choose!

Now it’s time to consider any special lighting, audio, electrical or gas needs that you may want to address during the electrical walkthrough. These specialty items may include but are not limited to: gas appliances, slide in double electric ovens, range hood or microwave, steam washers or dryers, computer workstations, surround sound systems, security systems, fireplaces and central vacuum outlets.

The fun is just beginning, but don’t worry there’s lots more in store for you as you continue the journey of building your dream home. Stay tuned for what happens during the electrical walk-through!
